Visit the Luggage Museum in Haguenau

Museums

They have travelled through the most beautiful countries in the world, carried the most elegant clothes, shared the secrets of famous people and held precious objects. The Luggage Museum is a journey through the centuries discovering trunks, suitcases and baggage, from the most typical to the most unusual

Since 2016, the Musée du Bagage has been housed in the city's former Banque de France. The objects on display are part of the remarkable collection built up by Jean-Philippe and Marie Rolland. With patience and passion, the couple from Haguenay have assembled and restored six hundred trunks, suitcases and luggage, of various origins and styles, dating from the 18th century to the 1960s. These objects illustrate the evolution of means of transport (travel by stagecoach, train, liner, plane). Some pieces are unique, notably those signed by luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Goyard, or Moynat.

Horaires d'ouverture

The Musée du Bagage is open from Wednesday to Sunday:

  • September 16 to June 30, 2pm to 5:30pm
  • July 1 to September 15, 10am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 6pm

Haguenau's museums are closed on January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1, November 1 and December 25.
