Heritage tourism

Reopening of the new Schweitzer centre dedicated to peace in August 2023!  In the footsteps of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Albert Schweitzer, born in Kaysersberg, this interpretation centre around the universalist message of peace proposes audacious installations and the use of digital technologies, which will make it a unique place in Alsace. Enjoy a fun and original experience, based on the humanist principles dear to Albert Schweitzer: freedom, tolerance and mutual respect.

The Schweitzer Centre focuses on the notion of the Nobel Peace Prize and its current resonance. It is dedicated to the promotion of the universalist notion of Peace, which is present in all of Albert Schweitzer's work. Peace, the driving force behind Albert Schweitzer's work, is approached from different angles and in a logical progression, enabling all visitors to become aware of the universal and timeless nature of the thought of Albert Schweitzer, Nobel Peace Prize winner. A large part of the exhibition is devoted to museography and scenography, in order to highlight the content of the collections and to integrate new technologies into the displays, thus contributing to the quality of the exhibition.

Horaires d'ouverture
The Schweitzer Centre is open from Wednesday to Monday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm (closed on Tuesdays).
Closed in January, 1 May and 25 December.
