Advantage for Pass'Alsace holders: adults and children who present their Pass'Alsace can benefit from half-price admission (or free admission depending on their age). Within the grounds of the former camp, visitors can discover four barracks, including the prison and the crematorium, as well as a historical museum. The gas chamber, located 1.5 km down the road, can also be visited. In 2005, the European Centre for Deported Resistance Members was inaugurated. Spanning 2,000 m2, it houses a permanent exhibition devoted to Nazism and the Resistance, educational rooms and a temporary exhibition area. Free guided tours are available for individuals every day the centre is open, at 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm and 3.30pm.

Due to mountain weather conditions, all or part of the historic site may be closed without notice: in the event of heavy snowfall or icy conditions.

KL-Natzweiler opened in May 1941. Intended to provide the Reich with slave labour for its industry, it primarily housed political deportees, as well as Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and Jehovah's Witnesses. It also included Jewish deportees, Gypsies, homosexuals and Jehovah's Witnesses. 52,000 deportees passed through this camp (either in the central camp or in one of its 70 external camps). Nearly a third died there.

From 16 April to 30 September, 9am to 6.30pm.

GAS CHAMBER: The building is open every day from 9.30am to 5pm.
From 16 April to 30 September, 9.30am to 6pm. The building is closed on certain days, please ask at reception. 

Closures: All of January (annual closure), 31 March (Easter Sunday), 1 May, 23 November, 24 November, 25 November, 24 December, 25 December, 26 December and 31 December 2024.

Europäisches Zentrum des deportierten Widerstandskämpfers

In the heart of the Vosges, are preserved the vestiges of the only concentration camp situated in France. 52,000 prisoners were forced to work in the quarry near the camp. 22,000 people died here. The visitor can discover 4 houses: the prison, the crematorium, a museum and also the former gas chamber.

Mobilité réduite

Le site du CERD est accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Un ascenseur permet d'accéder au niveau d'exposition -1, ainsi qu'au premier étage où se situe la cafétéria. Les espaces d'exposition sont tous accessibles, notamment grâce à des chemins d'accès en pente légère. Un stationnement pour les personnes en situation de handicap est également disponible sur le parking.  

La visite du camp, du fait de l’implantation géographique présente des difficultés d’accès. Merci de vous présenter à l'accueil du Centre européen en cas de besoins spécifiques.
